I live in Orange County and was just telling my daughter the other day how odd it is: When I run, fellow runners always wave, smile, nod - cyclist too, for the most part..  In the exercise world its like this unspoken comaraderie.. I love it! Yet we go to the market and barely even acknowledge each other - just sad.  I think people are afraid.  I too find those that dont respond, my friends and I will say &amp;quot;good morning,&amp;quot; when we get nothing in return we say out loud &amp;quot;or not&amp;quot; - so juvenile, right?  lol, but seriously - is it that difficult to say hello!
